The Randwick Royale

7 bed5 bath3 carQuirk rating: 4/5

Two Glen Avenue sits on one of Randwick’s best corners doing its best impression of a small Mediterranean embassy — three brick arches out front, a wraparound balustrade balcony, and a three-car garage tucked underneath like a vault. Seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a footprint big enough to lose a teenager in for an entire school holidays. This is the kind of house multi-generational families built when “the kids will never move out” was less a fear and more a floor plan requirement.

Inside, it’s a greatest-hits tour of three different decades arguing with each other. The front lounge has gone full swagged-curtain, blue-floral-carpet grandeur, the kind of room where you’re not sure if you’re meant to sit on the couch or just admire it from the doorway. Down the hall, the upstairs landing throws in marbled columns, gold leaf walls, and a chandelier doing absolutely the most for a corridor. Then there’s the bathroom situation: one in cool ocean blue, one in head-to-toe rust terracotta, both committed to their bit with zero apologies.

The real flex is downstairs — a sprawling games room with its own granite wet bar, exposed brick arches, and a five-stool bar setup that looks ready to host a 1987 Christmas party at any moment. Add a timber-lined kitchen with a granite island the length of a bowling lane, and you’ve got a house that was clearly built for entertaining at a scale most of us can’t imagine catering for.

Rip it or renovate? Yes, Randwick brings the money, but this kind of classy lady deserves to be dressed up even further. Is a blue bathroom enough, and what the HELL is going on with those lights? R3 zoning means whoever lands this one has options — keep the embassy energy, or start fresh on a rare corner block moments from Coogee. Either way, The Randwick Royale is ready for her next chapter.
